MERIDIAN FIRE DEPARTMENT

Fire fighters visit our center every fall to talk to our children about fire safety. Children become familiar with the sound of a fire alarm and learn what to do if they hear an alarm. They also have the opportunity to meet a fire fighter dressed in full gear face to face. This exposure helps reduce fear in children should they ever experience an emergency situation. Children also get to tour a real fire truck!

IDAHO BOTANICAL GARDENS

Idaho Botanical Gardens visits our center each winter to engage children's interest in the world of living things through lively audio and visual presentations, role-playing and craft activities.

DENTIST VISIT

Dental Health Month is during the month of February. We invite a local dentist to visit our center and teach children about proper dental hygiene.

MCGRUFF & MERIDIAN POLICE DEPARTMENT

McGruff and a Meridian Police Officer visit our center every spring to teach children about personal safety. An officer in full daily gear talks to children about stranger danger and what to do if a stranger ever approaches them. Children get to ask lots of questions, spend time with McGruff and tour a real police car!
